Autumnal Clumber Park Adventures.

So I'm back! After a long, old hiatus I have decided to start blogging again, a rest is as good as a change after all. Life has been busy and has bought me many wonderful experiences and challenges, it just meant that some aspects of my life had to be put on hold for a while. It has been an amazing summer and I will be updating you on some of the adventures I have had over the next few weeks.

For most of the morning I lay in bed reading, listening to the rain patter on the window, so I was really happy when the weather broke and we could hit the road. Doris, Ed and I headed over to Clumber Park for a walk and a picnic, it was lovely being out in the fresh, autumnal air. We visited the walled garden first and were amazed to see the renovation work that had been carried out on the glasshouse. It looks absolutely beautiful, all clean, pristine and white. I'm excited to see what the gardeners have planned for it next year.

After we finished looking around the walled garden and glasshouse we headed back to Doris to rustle up a spot of lunch, then we went for a walk around the lake. I love exploring woodland this time of year, everything is awash with ochre and amber hues. The light had started to gloam by the time we got back to Doris and Ed and I were ready to say goodbye to Clumber and head back home.

Hope you have had a beautiful Autumn weekend <3

Much Love,

Saturday Frolics...

Today Ed, mum, dad and I went to Shrewsbury for a little look around. We went to our favourite cafe in the market called The Bird's Nest, it is a gorgeous little shabby chic cafe with a good selection of tea which is rather refreshing.

This was Ed's fabulous soya latte and may I add you don't need to pay extra 30p for soya milk unlike some of the big corporate coffee houses!

They have Suki Tea! I totally *heart* Apple Loves Mint... YUM.

We also did a spot of vintage window shopping; so many pretty things, so little time.

I totally fell in love with this dress, but unfortunately it was a little too small in the bust for me. So it had to go back on the rail, for some other lucky girl to take it home.

Hope you have had a rather spiffing Saturday and have something stimulating planned for tomorrow! We are off to the garden centre's I think...

Saturday Funness!

I had so much fun today! Got up in the daylight, which was just wonderful then ed, mum and I went to Shrewsbury where we had a poke around the shops and a coffee. Chilled out in the afternoon and then we went to my best friends' house and Ed and I were lucky enough to see and torment our two gorgeous goth kids (instead of god children in case you are wondering) before they went to bed. Wine was drunk, giggles and many crazy stories followed. Such an awesome day <3

Busy Week Picture Mash Up.

It had been a busy week this week, I have been making the last few plans for Ed's birthday (Happy Birthday lovely husband Ed) and getting back into the swing of things really. The days just seem to have raced by and I got to Friday and hadn't updated my blog for a good few days! I had planned posts but they just haven't wanted to be born so here is a mash up of some of the pics and frolics that Ed and I have been having this week.

I booked a couple of nights away near the sea side as we haven't been that much this year, due to the rainy summer we have had. And thankfully today it stayed fine, so fingers crossed for tomorrow as we have a day trip to Whitby planned. I am so excited about going to Whitby as I have wanted to go there since I was a little goth!

Hope you have lots of loveliness planned for the weekend <3

Our Not Quite Photo an Hour Saturday.

Ed and I set out to do a photo an hour today, we didn't quite manage it as we had a busy day and we are just too scatty sometimes. So here is what we ended up with, the pictures I took are on the left and Ed's are on the right.

Hope your having a great weekend <3

My Total Rip off of Damien Hirst Because I can't Afford to Buy My Own!

Earlier this year Ed and I journeyed down to the smoke (London) to see the Damien Hirst exhibition at the Tate Modern. I was SO excited because I am a total fan girl of his work and had wetted my appetite by watching the Channel 4 Private View with Noel Fielding months before we managed to get down there.

It did not disappoint, it was all so amazing. There was even a room full of tropical butterflies just fluttering around feasting on fruit. He also had created absolutely huge works made out of butterfly wings that looked just like stained glass windows.

This weekend we are visiting my parents in Shropshire and mum has some enormous buddleia bushes that the butterflies just flock around. I've been struggling through a migraine for the last couple of days so I was just spending some time outside in the country air when I saw that there were these wings just lying on the lawn. I'm guessing that something had been munching on the butterflies but didn't like the wings too much.

I found this poor little bumblebee dead in some china cups I was sorting through that my mum had dug out of the attic. (Ed was really scared of it hehe).

Hope you are all having a great weekend <3

Frolicking at Ramsey 1940s Weekend.

We went to the Ramsey 1940s Weekend yesterday. This is an annual event in Ramsey that time travels you back to the 40s with a whimsical mix of fashion shows, light hearted dance classes, air shows and vintage stalls galore, to just name a few. There are also lots of exhibitors of vintage cars. This is probably Ed's favourite part of the event.

It may become obvious throughout these pictures that I am a little bit in love with Morris Minors. This little beauty is also in my favourite Morris Minor colour.

I even love the ones that are a little rusty, I hope to get a little doer-upper one day *swoon*.

This tiny little car did make me giggle, there is no way I could fit all my luggage for a weekend away in that!

Even the boxes of this era are adorable.

I was happy to take this dress on a little day trip as it is one that was made in the 40s. I was given it for my birthday by Ed and my parents. I wonder if it felt at home amongst all these little trinkets?

So many wonderfully kitsch, tempting things. I limited myself to a nut bowl with Winston Churchill's face in the bottom of it.

Hubby and me chilling in the shade as it was such a hot day (hence ed getting his chest out) hehe.

This was the fashion show, so many cute outfits! I think this look is awesome, I'm not sure I could pull it off around the office though.

The fashion show and evening dance were held in an old circus tent.

This is one of Ed's shots, I think he said it was a temperature gauge or something, he got very excited about this so I just nodded and pretended I understood. He probably does this to me when I look at china and trinkets.
